I stumbled upon Missy Mao on my Facebook page this week and I wanted to share her creations with you. I love her style and how she has given my fabrics the wonderful vintage feel. Its very encouraging for me.

These are really nice designs for a fabric! I'm pretty sure they can be amazing curtains especially on my kiddo's room! :)

Sunday sounds — Sam Amidon

Saffron Craig - Sunday, January 22, 2012

I was thrilled with the performance of Beth Orton at the Sydney Festival on Tuesday. Honestly she was funny, charming and so breathtaking, what a voice and songwriter. She was joined on stage for a few songs by Sam Amidon and what a talent. He is playing tonight at the Spiegletent, then goes to Perth.

All week I have been listening to his album, I see the sign. It's only $8 through his website. The album features the amazing Beth Orton on a few songs. Summertime folksy guitar music, seabreaze and salty skin from surfing is certainly very me at the moment.

I also wanted to share a tune from Beth off her website. Beth played some new songs at the gig and did mention she has just finished recording a new album, I can't wait for that to be released, as the songs were fab.

What music has made your summer playlist so far?

Dandelion Kisses makes a sweet girl's dress

Saffron Craig - Thursday, January 19, 2012

When I was designing the Dandelion Kisses fabric I had the feeling of girls and summer in mind.

Lovely Rachel of Four Wise Monkeys shared with me her latest sewing success on her blog. I thought you might enjoy it as well. Pop over and read about how she made it

This also got me to thinking about similarities and that we too have a guinea pig who looks so very similar and don't say they all do.. Cause they don't! :)

Our George is now really the size of a small dog. I haven't shown him since he was six weeks old and he is now a much loved pet.

Even if my daughter's attention span for him is only for 5 minutes a day at present...Though today it was ten minutes as he'd lost a tooth. "Look mummy, George is the same age as me, he's losing his teeth!". Thankfully they grow back in case you're wondering...

Fat George the Guinea Pig

Big thanks to Rachel for sharing, a $20 gift voucher is on its way for taking such lovely photos and writing in.

I'd love to hear about and see your creations.

Sunday Sounds- Holly Throsby

Saffron Craig - Sunday, January 15, 2012

Six of us including children went to see Holly Throsby in the Spiegeltent as part of the Sydney festival.

This song was a hit with the crowd, especially with me, I was shaking my hips for sure. If you have little ones in your life this music will make you feel sane. Sorry to all the other kids bands out there...

What an amazing concert it was! I am a massive Holly Throsby fan, and my 16month old daughter grooved and clapped along!

A lovely song - my 10 month old was mesmerised. And when I clicked on Play, an ad came up offering to make me look 10 years younger - how appropriate!

Imaginary Flowers quilt is in the APQ

Saffron Craig - Saturday, January 14, 2012

On my return from our break I discovered to my delight that my Imaginary Flowers quilt has been published in the current Australian Patchwork and Quilting magazine. It's the showcase special Volume 21 No 1 with an eagle quilt on the cover.

Buy here - Imaginary Flowers Quilt Kit

Imaginary Flower Quilt published in APQ

It's the quilt I sleep under each night, a large queen sized quilt, so that's very exciting. Of course I've got a kit so you can make one too.

I made some cushions using a few different ranges including the Infinity Flowers to coordinate with the quilt for a modern bed setting.

The Australian Patchwork and Quilting magazine is available now in most newsagents, though that said I did buy the very last copy at my local one!

Buy the queen size kit here for $199.00. With free Australia post.

Our break in beautiful Margaret River

Saffron Craig - Tuesday, January 10, 2012
Holidays are good for the soul. I have just returned from a break in Margaret River, WA.

We had many an adventure, the time away has helped me to feel alive and refreshed.

A section of the Cape to Cape walk.

Figs growing on the tree outside our Bed and Breakfast.

Figs picked and eaten.

Huge stingrays let us run our fingers down their satin backs, returning again and again tickling my toes.

This one was nearly 3 meters wide with eyes the size of an orange.

The stingrays were such a highlight for me. Next up for me is to go diving with them.

We went for many bush walks. My nephew of three was glad to pick up gum nuts, native flowers, stones and sticks to put in the witches house at the base of the huge Karri trees.

I am back now to start the new year brimming with fresh ideas. I hope you all had a great start to the year.

This is the Bed and breakfast we stayed in. If you are heading down to Margaret River I  thoroughly recommend it as it is just perfect. Email the host Yvette and she will get back to you.

They are huge sting rays, must have been Hamelin Bay. Thanks for sharing your Margaret River Bed and Breakfast with us, this is one of a handful of stunning places to stay, I have just met with Jo and James from llewellins guest house and Jane and Keith
from Rosewood Guest House, both very nice but very different. Something for everyone in Margaret River.
