Cockatoo Island: Outpost project 2011 is all about Street Art

Saffron Craig - Wednesday, November 16, 2011

The Cockatoo Island Street Art exhibition captured our imaginations last weekend.

It's great to see so much freedom with colour and a spray can. Great graphics and ideas.

Children were involved in building a cardboard city.

My daughter wanted to create a petrol station for all the cars.  Which developed into a corner shop.

I noticed there were no trees so I added some pink cardboard ones. I had dreams of making a park...

The T-shirt exhibition was great, interviews with all kinds of creatives asking their opinions on the humble Tee.

I was intrigued by the optimism and opinions.

Seriously envious of this girl's hand crocheed cape. I took a snap. Hope you don't mind.

The tunnel was full of cool street art. Dark in there and atmospheric.

Our mode of transport. Zip zip. As it's street art its all about wheels.

The icon of most Street or Skater art is the scull. I never thought I would put one on my blog but they brought the house with it, which in my option makes it remarkable.
