My new fabric range is on its way—Magical Lands in red and pink.
I received a few meters of each design from the printer last week to approve and play with. The range consists of six designs and it's a mix of my favourite fabrics:
Magical Lands in pink and red with a lavender sky, it has a real dawn feeling, like the sunrise over Kata Tjuta, my original inspiration for this range.
Snowy Woods in bold red and purple contrasted by a soft pink. Not that snowy really, more like cherry blossoms whirling through the sky.
Tree Pods in red reminds me of my first hand-printed fabrics, simple and strong. I'll be using this A LOT!
The Squiggly flowers in hot pink and red to add a rich texture and it is my favourite colour way of the Squiggly Flowers so far.
I created a new version of my Dandelions cheekily called Dandelion Kisses, a delicate line drawing over a soft vanilla. Which pairs up beautifully with my Dandelions Pink. I can see many a girl's dress made from these.

Intriquing naturalistic patterns coupled with muted pastels and bright and dark contrasts adds up to a very contemporary fabric range which will be entirely suitable for most modern styles of quilting. I can imagine these would work beautifully in anything
from..scrappy combinations with linen.. to.. large panelled geometric arrangements framed with solid borders.. both sublime and fun.

I recently made a little baby quilt and my friend said it was my best so far (she has three children for whom I have made little quilts). It was a very nice thing to say, but I was enormously aided by my Saffron Craig Magical Lands fabric! And now in pinks!
